US removed Iran and Hizbullah from Terror Threat List


The US National Intelligence has removed Iran and the Lebanese resistance movement, Hezbollah, from the list of terrorism threats to the United States for the first time in years. Annual security assessment report recently presented to the U.S. Senate by James Clapper, the director of National Intelligence, citing their efforts to combat ISIS. The unclassified version of the report, issued by Clapper on February 26 titled “Worldwide Threat Assessment of the US Intelligence Communities,”, noted Iran’s efforts to combat extremists, including those of the ISIL terrorist group, who were perceived to constitute "preeminent terrorist threat to American interests worldwide". The report also said that Hezbollah is countering ISIS group in Syria and Iraq. this year's report mentioned the group only once saying it faces a threat from ISIS near Lebanon's borders..
