UK Defence Committee MPs meet Pakistani Leader to support talks with Taliban


A delegation of UK Parliamentarians have met with the Chief of Member National Assembly of Pakistan and Jamiat Ulama Islam chief Maulana Fazalur Rahman. Jan Achakzai, the spokesperson of JUI said in a statement that the delegation was led by MP Bob Steward. They underscored UK’s commitment to a strong bilateral relationship with Pakistan. The delegation assured UK's support for Pakistan to dialogue with taliban as they were on the same page with Pakistan on Taliban talks. They said that UK is committed with Pakistan to support a more stable, secure, and prosperous future for the people and country. JUI Chief Maulana Fazalur Rahman said that Pakistan is playing a significant role in maintainining peace and stability in the region. He said that peace and stability in Pakistan is in the interest of neighbors and the whole region. He said that Pakistan and UK enjoyed good relations and Pakistani community in Britain is making a significant contribution to the economy and society there..
