Sudan to launch National campaign to fight violence against women
Minister of Welfare and Social Security Mashaer Al-Dawalab


Sudan's Ministry of Welfare and Social Security will launch here on November 25 a national campaign to combat violence against women, under the slogan of "Eradication of Child Marriage for Promotion of Girls Education", IINA reported.

According to Sudan News Agency (SUNA), Director of the Unit to Combat Violence Against Women Dr Attiyat Mustafa, who briefed Minister of Welfare and Social Security Mashaer Al-Dawalab with details of the campaign set to raise the awareness and to show progress being made in the field of fighting violence against women.

Dr Attiyat revealed that amendments have been made to the Criminal Code, referring to the importance of establishment of Legal Reform Commission has given the big role which could play in raising the people's awareness.

The minister lauded the role of the Unit and the accomplishments it scored in the area of fighting violence against women.
