BRUSSELS: Israel´s call to seize land within the occupied West Bank raises questions on Israel´s commitment to a two-state resolution to finish the conflict with the Palestinians, the eu Union aforesaid during a statement on Thursday.

Echoing remarks made on by Federal Republic of Germany and France, the EU´s policy service issued a rare statement directly criticising Israel for its appropriation of 579 acres (234 hectares) close to Jericho.

"Israel´s call a more step that risks undermining the viability of a future Palestinian state and so calls into question Israel´s commitment to a two-state resolution," the EU aforesaid during a statement.
