 Gen Sanaullah was a brave officer, US Ambassador says

 

Recalling his meeting with the martyred GOC Malakand Major General Sanaullah Khan Niazi, US Ambassador to Pakistan Richard G. Olson says he was a brave General. “Last month I visited Malakand and held detailed meetings with General Sana. General Sana committed to bring back pace and security in the area,” he said while talking to the media here in a dinner hosted by Dr Ibrar Ahmed in the honour of the US ambassador. Ambassadors and high commissioners, PML-Q President Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain, Senator Mushahid Hussain Sayed, opposition leader in the Senate Aitzaz Ahsan, Dr Azra Afzal Pucheho, Lt Gen. (R) Hameed Gul, Barrister Sultan Mehmood Chaudhry, Senator Dilawar Abbas, Senator Jehangir Badar and many other prominent personalities attended the dinner. Ambassador Olson said Pakistan was the center of Sufism and Sufis taught interfaith harmony among the religions.The ambassador said he had studied Islamic teachings and learnt that Islam was a religion of humanity, which talked about love with people. He said the United States supported the Afghan peace process..
