Bulgaria changed 215 districts names called as Turkish

 

Bulgarian officials have changed the names of 215 districts which is called as Turkish. Mayoral Committee of Varna decided to change the names of the districts to Bulgarian. Proposed names for some districts; Akça Ağaç-Yalovo, Armut Tabya-Kruşev redut, Yeşil Tarla-Zelenata niva, Karakuş-Orlovo, Körbunar-Slepiyat Kladenets. After Bulgaria’s seperation from the Ottoman Empire, a large Turkish population remained in the Bulgarian state, despite hundreds and thousands of Turks leaving their home for Turkey. The result of the last census showed 10% of total of 7.5 million people have a Turkish background. Kircaeli, Shumnu, Filibe, Silistre and Dobruca are the cities in which the population of ethnic Turks dominates. Despite European Union reforms, ethnic Turks in Bulgaria encounter assimilation policies..
